Catherine Kruyer
Advocate
Catherine was admitted to the Johannesburg Bar in 2022. Her practice includes constitutional, administrative and international law, as well as commercial litigation and public and regulatory matters.
Catherine holds B.SocSci, LLB and LLM degrees from the University of Cape Town. Prior to joining the Bar, she clerked for Justice Theron at the Constitutional Court of South Africa and for the Chief Justice of Malawi at the Supreme Court of Malawi. She also served in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
Catherine previously worked as a senior legal researcher at a public interest organisation, where she was involved in strategic constitutional litigation. She also worked with former Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke as a legal researcher on the Inquiry into Free and Fair Elections and the High Court Rationalisation Committee.
She has appeared in the High Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal, the Competition Appeal Court and the Constitutional Court.
