Dumisa Buhle Ntsebeza SC,
[BA(SA) B.Proc(SA) LLB(Unitra) LLM(International Law (UCT)],

Ntsebeza SC has been in the practice of the law for over thirty[30] years. He was an attorney for about 17 years. From 1993, he taught the Law of Evidence and Criminal Law, and from 1995, Human Rights Law at Unitra( now the Walter Sisulu University) in Mthatha. He gave up teaching when he was appointed one of the Commissioners in the Truth and Reconciliation from December 1995 to January 1999.

In 2000, he was called to the Bar in Cape Town.

He took Silk in 2005, becoming the first African to be conferred Silk status in the history of the Cape Bar. He now practises in the Johannesburg Bar since 2008.

Ntsebeza’s practice is general. He has a passion for Constitutional and Administrative Law, Labour Law, Mining Law and Land Law. He would like to be briefed in Competition Law. Ntsebeza has chaired a number of Disciplinary Actions, and has presided on several arbitrations.

He is a trained Arbitrator, and a qualified Commercial Mediator.

Ntsebeza has also sat as a judge in various divisions of the High Court of South Africa-- --in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape (Mthatha), Gauteng, and in all the Labour Courts.
